YOU ASK: You offer both bovine and porcine thyroid, why?
THE ANSWER IS: For many years the bovine thyroid was the only product that our supplier carried, and it has worked wonderfully for the majority of people. It has only been a very short time since we began carrying the porcine thyroid, which we did because of a significant number of customer requests. We find that some people are allergic to pork or prefer not to use it because of religious reasons.
Others feel better using thyroid from beef cattle because they feel that the animals are cleaner. The truth is, most customers couldn't really tell the difference between the products, and they both work equally well. There are a number of customers that have told us that the porcine does not agree with them and that they see a very real improvement when using our bovine product. For most people it is simply a personal choice, and a decision you must make yourself.
YOU ASK: Does your product really contain any hormones or have they been removed, and how is it made?
THE ANSWER IS: Our product is WHOLE desiccated glandular and contains every component that is common to a healthy thyroid gland. We don't add or remove anything. To retain the valuable components, the select glands from livestock already designated for the food industry are removed and freeze dried by a major US laboratory. The freeze drying process concentrates and preserves the active components of the gland.
YOU ASK: How does your product compare to synthetic products, etc. how much T4 or T3 does your product have, and do you have any conversion charts that can help me to determine my dose?
THE ANSWER IS: Without going into all of the details about FDA restrictions on dietary supplements, testing for hormones, reporting results, comparisons to prescription drugs, or determining dosage from conversion charts, all would relate precisely to the use of our product for medical conditions. For us to report such information or make such claims would result in the classification of our product as an unlicensed drug and would result in removal from the market. We will not and cannot discuss these things. Many professionals teach people to determine dosage themselves, by simple easy and accurate methods that can be performed at no cost at home.
YOU ASK: If you can't discuss hormones, T4 or T3 levels, test results, or compare to prescription products, then how do I determine my dosage?
THE ANSWER IS: For legal purposes, we can only suggest that 6 capsules be taken per day, or as otherwise directed by physician. You do have the legal and constitutional right to treat yourself if you so choose, but we can't recommend it, or give you specific directions ourselves of how it is done. We can tell you that some experts have published information explaining that body temperature, pulse, and how a person feels are good indicators. Many professionals believe that ORAL temperature taking is more accurate than axillary (underarm) temperature, and that old fashioned glass mercury thermometers are more precisely accurate than digital thermometers.
It is a well known fact recorded in physiology texts that one of the primary functions of the thyroid system is to regulate and maintain proper body temperature and metabolism. Also that the body's innumerable and very important enzymes must be at the right temperatures to work right and allow the body to function properly. Many texts document that optimum body temperature is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, and that 98.0 degrees is optimum for basal or resting temperature (as during final stages of sleep or immediately following sleep in the AM, taken before getting out of bed). One thing not to forget is that a person's own body can tell them best what is working and what is not, and how a person feels is a good indicator of how a product is working for them.
Many professionals believe that it is very valuable, effective, and even essential to monitor the body's own metabolic indicators such as body temperature and pulse rates. We believe the proper way to take our product is by following professional guidance, monitoring carefully how it is actually working in and with the body, and not by suspected hormone levels it might contain or how it relates to other products or medical tests that many professionals don't feel work properly anyway. Please follow directions as provided and outlined by professionals, as we cannot legally provide any directions beyond the recommended one tablet daily for adults.
YOU ASK: How would you recommend that I take your glandular supplements, with food or without, and what time of the day?
THE ANSWER IS: Through extensive reporting of customer experiences and professional recommendations, we can tell you that some people believe that taking our natural glandulars on an empty stomach, before meals, achieves best absorption. Some customers have also noticed improved results when they split their daily dose equally throughout daytime hours, and some even break their capsules into pieces to achieve this. Some customers report feeling too energized or refreshed to sleep when they take our glandulars later in the evening. For that reason it is best to take thyroid and adrenal glandulars during daytime hours, allowing the body to unwind in the evening prior to sleep. However, there is no real problem taking the glandulars with food, they are still effective, and when you take them must correspond with your own person schedule and needs.
YOU ASK: You say your product works, but how am I to believe that it is valid, or how can I have assurance that it might be worthwhile for me and will work for my purposes?
THE ANSWER IS: By law we can't recommend that you use our products for medical purposes, nor can we even suggest that they be used that way. We frequently get some rather amazing and candid reports of how people choose to use our products, and what they report their personal results to be. These customer comments are provided on our website for educational purposes only and came to us completely unsolicited. In fact, in each instance when we asked these customers if we could use their testimonials and their full names, they replied in the affirmative, and even supplied additional information because they felt a compelling urge to educate and help others. Again, you must understand that we don't condone the use of our product for the purposes they describe, and we suggest that you get professional guidance.
YOU ASK: I was of the opinion that taking thyroid capsules would raise my body temperature, which it only did temporarily each time I took one, so I found that I had to take eight capsules my first day to keep the temperature in the right range. What do you have to say about this? How many capsules should I take? What do other customers tell you that they take?
THE ANSWER IS: By immediately taking excessive amounts of our thyroid capsules, obviously without any kind of professional guidance, you are putting yourself in danger. It is a well known fact that the body stores the less active form of thyroid in the liver, where it can be converted weeks later to more active forms, which experts say can be five times as powerful as the inactive forms. Supplementing the thyroid system with excessive amounts of natural thyroid glandular could potentially stimulate the thyroid system to the point of hyperthyroidism, a disorder where the body produces too much thyroid, which can have serious adverse effects.
Since we have no control over how you might use our product, we cannot be responsible for misuse. Similarly dangerous, excessive amounts of vitamins such as Vitamin D or the mineral supplement Selenium can cause death or health problems. Even drinking extremely high amounts of water can cause death. It is important to understand that just because something is natural, doesn't mean that it can be misused without potential adverse results. Please use all health supplements responsibly. Although for legal reasons we can only recommend taking caspules per day, we have many customers who tell us that they gradually increase their dose (or their doctors do) over long periods of time (14-30 days).
That is usually based on monitoring body temperatures and pulse. Many customers tell us that based on professional guidance they successfully take from 4 to 8 capsules per day, a few take as many as 12 per day, and in very rare cases we have heard of doctors prescribing as high as 24 capsules per day. Doctors tell us this process of correct dosage determination takes many months. Although we cannot recommend these increased doses, it is your right to know what other customers are doing. Please seek qualified professional guidance in these matters.
YOU ASK: Where does your thyroid come from, and how are the animals raised?
THE ANSWER IS: The manufacturer of our product has been supplying it to "professionals only" for decades without prescription. With great difficulty we recently made special arrangements to take the product directly to the public for the first time. As the owners, we have personally had exceptional experiences with the product and use it ourselves daily for needed thyroid supplementation. Just like you, we want to be assured that it is a safe and effective product. We have received what we feel to be proper certification from the US manufacturer and laboratory that assures us that our product comes from properly inspected and selected livestock that are safe and approved by the appropriate United States government agencies for use as raw glandular. Our product is made in the USA. We have been told that even the production methods and processing records are continually monitored by appropriate agencies.
YOU ASK: Can you provide us with the actual documentation from the manufacturer and laboratory that you mentioned in your previous message?
THE ANSWER IS: By agreement with the manufacturer we cannot provide names or documentation beyond what you have been told because our sources are business trade secrets and such information is highly proprietary. The continued success of our company as a source of supply to thousands of people hinges on this confidentiality.
YOU ASK: Are the animals used for your products organic?
THE ANSWER IS: The glandulars come from high quality livestock raised by agricultural methods approved by multiple US government agencies for human use as raw glandular concentrates. While our products are not considered "organic", they are the most effective solutions that we have ever been able to find, and thousands of customers agree. Please be aware that we are very strong advocates of organic agriculture, but we also have the need to supply what we feel are the most valid products. This is why we chose to put our name on our own products, which we highly recommend. They come from grass fed New Zealand livestock, certified to be raised free of commercial feeds, antibiotics, and hormones. We have had reports from some customers that the Natural Sources glandulars have worked for them, yet generally most customer experiences show that they do not work nearly as well as the products.
YOU ASK: We are concerned about Mad Cow disease which we've been told can infect meat products including glandulars. How can you assure us that your product is safe.
THE ANSWER IS: We have received proper certification from the manufacturer showing that the laboratory has known about problems with Mad Cow disease since the early 1980's and that they have worked with proper government agencies ever since to assure that their products are safe. USDA approved cattle do not "eat" recycled diseased cattle byproducts reprocessed into feed in foreign rendering plants, which is believed by some to be the prime cause of the outbreaks in Europe and elsewhere overseas. Cattle producers are more cautious and aware now than they ever have been. Please understand that if you eat beef (or even possibly the meat from other kinds of animals), just by shear volume alone you would have a much greater chance of getting the Mad Cow prions from that, than you would from our product.
Our product is a very tiny amount of beef indeed, even if you calculated a whole year's supply and compared it to just one hamburger from a fast food restaurant. For some reason the press on thyroid seems to report the subject as though thyroid glandulars have some special ability to transport the disease, when meat from a grocery store or restaurant does not. This is simply not true, and for some reason has been left out of articles on the subject. Specifically, the glandulars discussed in the articles are those that come from certain sources outside the US which could be tainted, and have long since been banned for import into the US.
